Our History
MISMA: Women Inspired by Dreams, Goals, and Actions
MISMA is a non-profit organization in Texas, led by workers, dedicated to supporting and empowering domestic workers through leadership development, education, and collective organizing.
Through membership meetings, annual trainings, and community initiatives, MISMA builds collective power, promotes dignity in housework, and creates opportunities for sustainable social and economic justice.
Our Programs
MISMA promotes leadership and unity among domestic workers. We create spaces where every woman can learn, share, and grow. Our activities strengthen the community and inspire us to build a future with dignity and justice.

Training for Domestic Workers
The Annual Domestic Workers Training is an educational program in Spanish that offers domestic workers practical tools on labor rights, leadership, and workplace safety, strengthening their confidence, independence, and active participation in the community.
Writing Workshops
In partnership with Las Malcriadas Fronteriza, MISMA offers writing workshops where members learn to express their stories in an inspiring way, share their personal experiences, and strengthen their leadership to continue building a movement based on dignity and justice.
Social Cafe
The Social Café is a space for coexistence created by MISMA to strengthen the community among domestic workers, where participants share experiences, celebrate achievements and support each other in an environment of trust and solidarity that promotes well-being and unity.
